Silicon Valley Reads
Each year Silicon Valley Reads chooses a book that is universally relevant to the people who live in Santa Clara County. Many public events are planned to spark discussion of the book. This year's selection is In the Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. For more information about the book, author and the schedule of events, visit the website: http://siliconvalleyreads.org/2010-11/

Online Databases - The CHS Virtual Library is open 24/7! Find useful information from eBooks, magazines, journals and newpapers by accessing one of our online databases. You must have a password to access the databases from home. Contact the librarian for a password.
Google Book Search - Google has been digitizing the contents of a number of great libraries. Search for books. Some books, no longer under copyright, are available for free. Other books have content and title pages as well as some interesting passages. Use Google Book Search to find local libraries that carry titles.
NoodleBib - Silly name but it's a great tool! Create MLA formatted works cited lists and save them, even share them with others. You will need the school username and password to create your account.
Thanks to a grant from the NEH, the library has received a set of 40 full color, high quality reproductions of American art that have been laminated and are ready to hang. A teacher resource book is included with background information and applications for use in the classroom. An electronic version of the book and links to additional resources are available online at www.PicturingAmerica.neh.gov.
